Two separate research teams announced new breakthroughs in developing DNA molecules that behave like robots. Their research, published in two papers in the May 13 edition of the journal Nature, marks an important step in the field of DNA nanotechnology, molecular computing, and robotics that could one day lead to molecular robots that can fix individual cells or assemble nanotechnology products.
